Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12th November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first gymnast to earn a 10. competing in the Olympics. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci at the age of six. The first time she competed was at The National Junior Championships which she was 13th place in 1969. In the year 1970, she was crowned champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she was the all-around junior champion. In 1975, she took home four golds and one silver in her first senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. The year was 1976 when she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars using backwards double salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she started appearing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in entertainment when she was in her teenage years. As a young girl, she began performing as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Ice Capades showcased performances of skating on ice with actors.
