Kathie Lee Gifford, along with Hoda KOTB, was hosting the 4th hour of TODAY since in 2008, and up to the 5th April, 2019. Entertainment Weekly had hailed the Gifford/Kotb hour as "appointment" television, and USA Today referred to TODAY's "happy hour" in their article. The year 2014 was the year that Gifford wrote the highly acclaimed TODAY the Musical, which featured the host and cast on the show.
